When self-knowledge is fully attained then you move on to universal knowledge and finally spiritual knowledge – you are then fully enlightened. There are a few steps in between these three stages but I will not confuse you with them at this time. Suffice it to say that these are the three major steps, or phases, to enlightenment.

I hasten to add that universal knowledge does not mean that you must become knowledgeable about the universe and all that is contained therein, I simply mean that, because you live IN the universe, you thus need to become aware OF the universe and your place in it.

Universal knowledge is achieved in a similar way as self-knowledge is achieved. You must determine how YOU fit into the universe. For instance, you ask yourself such questions as: ‘WHY am I of the universe?’ ‘HOW do I fit into the universe?’ ‘WHY was I created to become a part of the universe?’ and so on.

Universal knowledge is achieved by discovering how YOU fit into the creation and complexity of the universe. This is no easy task – but then, enlightenment is only sought by those who are in darkness and who are beginning to see their own dawn casting their own shadows behind them.

Enlightenment is the dawn of your own existence. Once your dawn breaks through, you will then find yourself enlightening the way for others to follow.
